Ultra low temperature bath that uses liquid nitrogen (LN2) as the cooling medium to provide a continuous, stable temperature from -196°C to +50°C at a significantly lower cost. Developed by Belz after more than a decade of R&D for the comparison calibration of temperature sensors, including the range of -196°C to -100°C, for which no commercial source is otherwise available. Stability ±0.025°C (more than 30 minutes) and axial uniformity ±0.025°C (within 50 mm in the isothermal zone).

Advantages of CRYOTEM
- Dry Block — Sensor under calibration is isolated from the cooling medium, to avoid contamination of the sensor. Hence it is suitable for pharmaceutical, food and beverages, aviation and energy industries.
- Immersion Depth (200 mm) precision — Ensures 20 to 30 times immersion depth; sensors of diameter up to 8 mm can be calibrated without any immersion error.
- Sensor Length (350 mm) — Sensors of length 350 mm and above can be calibrated with a stability and uniformity of ±0.01°C. Shorter sensors up to 200 mm can also be calibrated with coarser stability and uniformity.
- Power Consumption — Less than 200 Wh, can be operated on an uninterrupted power supply conveniently.
- Environment Friendly — Uses environment-friendly liquid nitrogen (LN2), which is safe, non-toxic and odourless, for cooling instead of a refrigeration system that releases potent greenhouse gases (GHGs).
- Waste Recycling — Liquid nitrogen (LN2) is produced as a waste / by-product in oxygen production plants and is available in bulk at a very low cost. Using liquid nitrogen as the cooling medium is thus a waste-recycling process and also helps in reducing the carbon footprint.
